Demographics

Sharon Elementary is a rural Title I elementary school located in the westernmost part of Iredell County along Interstate 40. Sharon currently has 251 students: 74% Caucasian, 5% Asian, 5% African American, 9% Hispanic and 7% Multi-Racial. Sharon has 74% of students who qualify for free/reduced lunches. 8.9% are identified as ESL.
Activities
Enrichments
An enrichment program is a supplementary educational program designed to enhance students' academic experience and challenge them academically. It is not a replacement for the core curriculum, but rather an addition to it.
Our Parents
Title 1
Sharon qualifies as a Title I school because the percentage of students receiving free or reduced meals is higher than the district average. Currently Sharon's free and reduced meals percentage is 74%.
As a Title I school Sharon receives some federal funding for supplies and materials and parent engagement activities. A Title I Plan to spend this money is created with input from staff and parents at the beginning of every school year.
The Title I Plan is normally reviewed at the September PTO meeting and as part of the beginning of year Family Night.
